From wireless technology to system integration to comfort and beyond, Engineered Systems’ 2006 Building Automation Conference will give attendees a fast, informative two days of insights and tips from around the building industry. Scheduled for March 8-9, 2006 at the Sheraton in Baltimore, the gathering focuses on commercial building automation and will be worthwhile for owners, engineers, developers, facility managers, and others in the commercial and governmental sectors interested in putting the latest in building technology to use for more efficient performance.

The program focus will be split within the two-day conference. Day one will focus entirely on commercial building design, while day two will highlight institutional and governmental advancements. Sessions at the 2006 Building Automation Conference will feature panel presentations and discussion, including ample time for Q&A and interaction among the panelists and the attendees.

Names of professionals scheduled to participate include some familiar to ES readers (such as Rebecca Ellis, leading the session on system commissioning and operation), while others are respected names in the realm of intelligent buildings, such as Dr. Volker Hartkopf. Dr. Hartkopf is the director of the Building Performance Laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University and is slated to present a keynote speech at the conference. Paul Ehrlich, P.E. of the Building Intelligence Group (and regular contributor to Engineered Systems and Intelligent Buildings Today) will also share his thoughts on the present and future possibilities to be had via available technology.

The two tracks will cover much ground over the two days, from the topics listed above to design and specification, Internet technology, enterprise management, and best practices. The $195 registration fee covers the full event, the conference proceedings on CD-ROM, two continental breakfasts, and an afternoon networking reception as well.
